After months of looking at bridesmaids dresses, I have actually come to the conclusion that trying to pick three exact colors from an apple is a little frustrating, as well as scattered looking. So I have nixed those colors altogether and am now starting fresh with a neutral tone that may actually stand out more against the bright hues of the orchard. I loved, loved, loved this sweet buttery, canary yellow that I saw a few months back in David's Bridal. However, since all the wildflowers and bouquets are going to be yellow, I'm thinking they will just look gorgeous against a shimmery champagne chiffon. So that is where I am...champagne. The shade doesn't have to be exact, just close, and the point is to find the version of this color that is most flattering for the bridesmaid who will be wearing it. So here are a few lovely dresses I've found. Obviously, anything bought outside these examples is fine.
So, this dress by Holly Morgan is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, the site listed for it in Engaged and Inspired wasn't quite getting me to the right place. If you can find it though, kudos. It's beautiful! Below are a couple new favorites from David's Bridal. On the computer screen, "golden" actually looks prettier to me than "champagne" color, but I want my girls to pick which shade looks best on them.
For details, click here . This one is shown in "golden".
The details for this one are here . This is "champagne".
The color of this one is actually shown in "latte", which is also nice. The details for this one are here .
The details for this one in "champagne" can be found here .
Before I chose this particular color series, I was pretty set on "canary" which is a very sweet, light yellow in David's Bridal. So, if you like these dress styles, play with the color buttons and see if you like "canary" or maybe even "pink" better. Then we can all come to a consensus. The prices at David's Bridal may also be better than other "bridal" stores.
Here are some more that I found just from googling "champagne bridesmaid dress".
This one is from Debenhams , but I don't know if it's a company in the U.S.
This one from Nordstrom is also nice. Actually, I found this one one on the blog Newlyweds & Nesting, along with several other very cute champagne colored dresses.
And this is another google result from some Wedding and Prom Dress site .
These are just some examples, but basically the idea is for each bridesmaid to have their own style dress in this basic color or some shade of it. The fabric I like most is chiffon, because it is lightweight, cool and doesn't really show sweat. I don't mind lace either, though, because it just looks so darn pretty!
So girls, tell me what you think. I want you all to look and feel as beautiful as you are!
