To Top It All Off

I've been going crazy for these sweet birdy toppers I keep seeing on other blogs, so I thought I'd investigate and here are some things I've come up with. Most of my favorites come from Etsy, of course. These rustic accessories above are made by Bragging Bags. Those two are actually cupcake toppers, but there are some similar ones that are larger and say "We Do" which are also nice. I just like how clean and simple they look.

I love these two love birds by Strawberries and Cream, but they are a little more costly. Still, they are better priced than most in this style. I guess handcrafted love birds are popular!

These wooden toys from Star House are cute, and you can play with them later! Lol, might make for sweet kiddy toys when those days finally come around, but now I may be thinking too far ahead;p

Here are some beautiful ones by Middleburg Folk Art Studio. I was into the birds to start with, but the one at bottom left with the bunnies has stolen my heart, since I've always had a love for rabbits. These ones are all pretty expensive, though, and compared to everything else in the wedding, a cake topper does not seem like a priority for spending quite so much money on.

These from Primitive Season are cute and about $10.

These cupcake toppers by GiftsDefine are so adorable and, from what I can remember, pretty affordable, too, I think. They would be perfect on top of the red velvet groom's cupcakes that my very sweet Aunt Terry is making for us.

These figurines were some simpler ones I found. The birds above are by Hollymark After Dark.

I don't know why I find these spoons by Jessica N Designs to be so charming, but crossed like this, I feel like they would be so pretty on a cake...or even a fork and a spoon would be cute. Is it weird to put silverware on top of a wedding cake?

More for the Maidens

These are just a few more vendors and ideas I found for bridesmaids dresses. All of these came from Etsy, a great place to find vintage and handmade anything.

Also, after actually looking at some of the dresses and limiting it to one general color, I've decided to leave fabric choice to my ladies. I saw some very nice looking cotton and linen dresses that would be just as cool as light chiffon or lace. My only request is no satin or taffeta because those materials get very hot and uncomfortable, and are also shiny and might glare in pictures. I also am really loving the light blushy pinks as much as the champagne, so please give me a heads up if pink is preferred. The two together may even be nice. Especially for my sweet junior bridesmaid, Hanna, I'm thinking that pink would perfectly match her youthfulness.

So, these dresses by River of Romansk are, I think, incredibly beautiful and she has several styles that are equally as breathtaking. Best part? Most of them are under $50! I swear, I could easily copy every picture on her site! lol. The only possible dilemma is that I am not entirely sure how customizable the colors are. The great thing about Etsy is that you can actually contact all of the designers and creators, but, like I said...this pale dusty pink is also lovely. And if this is the right dress but it isn't available in champagne, I'd be willing to let is slide;P

This pleated dress by Ananya on Etsy for $60 can be customized with any color and exact measurements. She has other nice styles to choose from which are also very affordable.

These two by Lirola on Etsy can also be customized in other colors, but like most of the more wedding party-geared dresses, are a bit more costly.

I might also note that as far as shoes go, I wouldn't buy heels because they will sink into the dirt out in the orchard. Wedges or flats are probably better.

Pretty Maids All in a Row

After months of looking at bridesmaids dresses, I have actually come to the conclusion that trying to pick three exact colors from an apple is a little frustrating, as well as scattered looking. So I have nixed those colors altogether and am now starting fresh with a neutral tone that may actually stand out more against the bright hues of the orchard. I loved, loved, loved this sweet buttery, canary yellow that I saw a few months back in David's Bridal. However, since all the wildflowers and bouquets are going to be yellow, I'm thinking they will just look gorgeous against a shimmery champagne chiffon. So that is where I am...champagne. The shade doesn't have to be exact, just close, and the point is to find the version of this color that is most flattering for the bridesmaid who will be wearing it. So here are a few lovely dresses I've found. Obviously, anything bought outside these examples is fine.
So, this dress by Holly Morgan is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, the site listed for it in Engaged and Inspired wasn't quite getting me to the right place. If you can find it though, kudos. It's beautiful! Below are a couple new favorites from David's Bridal. On the computer screen, "golden" actually looks prettier to me than "champagne" color, but I want my girls to pick which shade looks best on them.

For details, click here . This one is shown in "golden".
The details for this one are here . This is "champagne".

The color of this one is actually shown in "latte", which is also nice. The details for this one are here .
The details for this one in "champagne" can be found here .
Before I chose this particular color series, I was pretty set on "canary" which is a very sweet, light yellow in David's Bridal. So, if you like these dress styles, play with the color buttons and see if you like "canary" or maybe even "pink" better. Then we can all come to a consensus. The prices at David's Bridal may also be better than other "bridal" stores.
Here are some more that I found just from googling "champagne bridesmaid dress".

This one is from Debenhams , but I don't know if it's a company in the U.S.
This one from Nordstrom is also nice. Actually, I found this one one on the blog Newlyweds & Nesting, along with several other very cute champagne colored dresses.

And this is another google result from some Wedding and Prom Dress site .
These are just some examples, but basically the idea is for each bridesmaid to have their own style dress in this basic color or some shade of it. The fabric I like most is chiffon, because it is lightweight, cool and doesn't really show sweat. I don't mind lace either, though, because it just looks so darn pretty!
So girls, tell me what you think. I want you all to look and feel as beautiful as you are!
